As deep-sea mining increasingly threatens the fragile ecosystems deep in our oceans, Eleanor Mortimer’s gently and engagingly heads deep below the waves to examine the strange and often alien lifeforms living in the depths, as a team of biologists study creatures that exit there. This group of young biologists – often wonderfully excited to witness the creatures – work to map life in the deep just as mining companies looks to find ways to extract precious resources from the ocean floor.
