Back in 1974, writer Linda Rosenkrantz and photographer Peter Hujar tape-recorded a conversation in her New York apartment that ran through 24 hours in the life of this supremely well-connected and important photographer in New York’s cultural scene at that time. Ira Sachs’ wonderful and illuminating film features Ben Wishaw and Rebecca Hall (both wonderful) acting that recorded conversation, and bringing to life interactions with the likes of Allen Ginsberg and Susan Sontag as the pair ruminate on life, culture and New York.
