A powerfully immersive journey into Spain’s Southern Galicia, one of the most
wildfire prone areas of Europe. The wild horses that have roamed the
mountainous region for centuries have played a vital part in fire prevention by
keeping the flammable undergrowth low, but now numbers are dwindling.
Following a firefighter, a vet and a budding cowboy, the film paints are
worrying picture of the region as it was shot during the hottest summer on
record with forest fires raging for days. For both humans and animals the
fragility of the natural world is brutally exposed.
