Tsangari’s folk drama is set in England during the Middle Ages in a remote
village where a traditional way of life is disrupted just as the community faces
severe economic turmoil. The arrival of three outsiders sees the community
place the strangers on stocks and scapegoat them for worrying events. The film
features a strong cast – particular Caleb Landy Jones (from Get Out), Harry
Melling, Rosy McEwan and Frank Dillane – as it portrays a rural community at
odds with itself
