Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra

A romping fantasy comedy, adapted from René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo’s children’s favourite comic book Asterix and Cleopatra, this 2002 film – one of France’s must successful films ever – sees Asterix (Christian Clavier) and Obelix (Gérard Depardieu) our oddball heroes from Gaul of 50BC recruited to help fight Romans who are aiming to stop Cleopatra (Monica Bellucci) build a temple in record time after she had made a bet with Julius Caesar. Scenes were filmed at the Malta Film Studios and in the town.
